If you spend enough time looking into men’s grooming, shaving, and lifestyle advice, you’ll quickly realize that 90% of it is marketing fluff. It’s influencers pushing products they don’t actually use, corporations slapping “masculine” labels on cheap chemicals, and articles telling you that you need a 14-step routine to wash your own face.
I built this site to cut through that noise. No sponsored fluff. No corporate talking points. Just straightforward, practical advice on traditional wet shaving, beard care, and building a routine that actually works.
How It Started
My journey into traditional shaving didn’t start because I wanted a hobby. It started because I was tired of paying premium prices for cartridge razors and canned foam that left my neck looking like hamburger meat.
When I made the switch to a safety razor and a real shaving brush, my skin cleared up. The problem? Finding high-quality, handcrafted shaving soaps that didn’t cost a fortune was nearly impossible. The market was either cheap, synthetic junk or overpriced luxury brands leaning on their heritage.
So, in 2011, I started making my own. I focused on premium ingredients, small-batch control, and zero shortcuts. That obsession with performance turned into Wet Shaving Products (WSP). Today, we still handcraft everything from shave soap to beard oil and small-batch cologne right here in our Chandler, Arizona workshop.
The Philosophy: Simple, Effective, and Built to Last
Whether I’m testing a new razor blade or formulating a new soap, my rule is simple: It has to work, and it has to deliver value without the corporate runaround.
That exact same philosophy—cutting out the bloated middlemen and protecting what actually matters—is what drives my life outside of the grooming world. It’s the reason I founded Copper State Planning, an Arizona-based estate planning firm. Just like in the shaving industry, I saw families getting overwhelmed by confusing jargon and overpriced, cookie-cutter legal advice. I built Copper State to help people protect their assets and their families with straightforward, honest planning.
